The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

  • Edward Robie Gravelle, of Davis, was charged with one count of Battery. According to the complaint on Monday, May 5 Trooper G.P. Hahn was dispatched to the address of 434 Fairfax Ave in Davis for a call of a fight. When he arrived on scene and was met by the victim and two witnesses, he was advised by all parties that the subject had walked up to the residence where the victim was mowing grass and began yelling profanities at the victim.
  • Hahn was then advised that the suspect grabbed the victim and dragged him off a lawnmower before kicking him in the ribs and striking him in the face. Hahn was then advised that the suspect walked back to his residence just a few houses down from the above-mentioned address. The officer observed the victim and found bruising on his right forehead and eye area. He also observed the victim’s shirt had been ripped along the neck area suggesting he had been grabbed and pulled with force. The victim stated that it hurt whenever he tried to take a breath indicating he was struck in the rib area. Hahn asked what the reason was for the attack and he was advised that the suspect believes the victim was trespassing. The victim stated that the suspect has no say in the land in which he was mowing and had no reason for the encounter and or the violence he committed when he arrived.
  • All parties are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law. This crime was committed in Tucker County.
