The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

• Justin Michael Greer, was charged with one felony county of Strangulation. According to the complaint, on Sunday, Jan. 11 Trooper G.P. Hahn was dispatched to Thomas. He was advised that a third-party caller had gotten a message from the victim stating to call 911 and was unable to make contact with the victim after the message. He arrived on scene and made contact with Justin Michael Greer. The officer spoke with the accused who stated that everything was alright and that there was just a verbal argument between him and his wife over their child not listening.

The officer was advised by the accused that all he had done was kick a door. Hahn located a small child sitting on a sofa who looked like she had been crying, as well as the wife (victim) of the accused. He spoke to the victim who stated that the accused had gotten upset because “his team” lost and that he had then gotten mad at the child. The victim stated that the accused became violent when the child didn’t listen and opened some Legos. She stated that the accused then grabbed the child and lifted her in the air and shook her while screaming. Hahn was also advised that the accused had thrown a cell phone at the child and struck her in the back. She stated that she had been holding a smaller child at the time, took that child to her crib before attempting to protect the other child. She stated that the accused then cornered her and became violent with her. She stated that the accused grabbed her by the neck and told her, “to die” or he would kill her. She stated that she lost consciousness and remembers waking up on the floor halfway in the hallway and half in the baby’s room. She stated that after that she took her kids to a safer spot in the home and messaged her group chat to call 911.

Hahn observed the victim’s neck area and located red marks and some slight scratching on her neck. He observed the child’s back where she was said to have been struck and located a welt near the child’s right shoulder blade and some redness under her left shoulder blade that would corroborate the statement of the child being lifted and shaken violently and stricken with a cell phone. The accused was placed under arrest and then transported to the TVRJ.
