The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

 

  • Amanda M. Stapleton, Fredericksburg, Va., was cited for speeding (59/45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Gregory D. Patterson, Charleston, was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Douglas E. Griffith, Jr., Weston, was cited for speeding (49-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Alexander L. Black, Philippi, was cited for speeding (65-55) by Sr. Trp. J.J. Schmidle. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $.475 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Raul E. Ramirez, Davis, was cited for no proof of insurance by Deputy C.R. Donelson. The charge was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Janette A. Day, Thomas, was cited for Driving while suspended or revoked by Deputy C.R. Donelson. She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $100 and court cost of $165.25.
  • John A. McGuigan, Parsons, was cited for speeding (64-55) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.

 

The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • Matthew Logan Lipscomb, Parsons, was charged with Obstructing an officer and Disorderly Conduct. According to the complaint, on Sunday, Aug. 16 Deputy C.R. Donelson and Cpl. D.W. Burge were called to the Parsons Sheets parking lot for an altercation. When they arrived, they observed the defendant, Matthew Lipscomb, standing near a gray truck, and his wife was walking away from the truck. Bernard Bohon, the second party in the altercation, was standing by the store. Allegedly, the defendant kept yelling and screaming at Bohon and was asked to walk away by the officers. He advised them that he would not walk away and he would not shut up. He was told again to walk away, and this time Donelson attempted to assist him away from the altercation. The defendant allegedly pulled away, turned around and appeared to square off with officers. He was assisted away by the arm and continued to yell and curse. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Parsons State Police Detachment for processing and then to Tygart Valley Regional Jail.

 

The following cases have been Ordered and Adjudged in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • Brittany A. Sines, Gormania, received judgment of Guilty Plea for two counts of making, issuing, worthless checks on April 26. She must pay cost and fees of $380.50 and pay restitution of $51.78. This case was ordered and adjudged on Aug. 14 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
  • Dennis H. Miller, Lanham, Md., received judgment of Guilty Plea/Agreement for one count of Reckless Driving on May 30. He was assessed fines of $25 with cost and fees of $203.20. The case was ordered and adjudged on Aug. 13 by Magistrate William M. Miller. Plus he received a judgment of Dismissed by Mag-State of No Fee for one count of Driving while license suspended or revoked on May 30. This case was ordered and adjudged on June 29 by Magistrate William M. Miller.

 

The following civil cases have been heard in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • The court found in favor of Samuel John Loria against Patricia Fulton in the amount of $100 plus court cost of $75. This case was ordered and adjudged on Aug. 12 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
  • The court found in favor of Kathy Roy against Cindy Williams in the amount of $300 plus court cost of $75. This case was ordered and adjudged on Aug. 18 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.

 

Police News

 

  • According to a press release from the West Virginia State Police, on Tuesday, Aug 4 a 17 year old juvenile escaped from the Kenneth Honey Rubenstein Center. The juvenile initially left on foot and traveled to the Tucker County Landfill. He entered an unlocked building and allegedly stole a cell phone, then traveled outside where he also stole a l997 Jeep Cherokee. He traveled onto WV32 north where he struck a utility pole in Thomas. He left the scene of the accident and traveled on US219 south. He was being followed by units from the Rubenstein Center who were advising police of their location. Parsons Police Chief W.D. Rowe and Cpl. J.E. Kopec, of the West Virginia State Police, were traveling north on US219 in an attempt to locate the juvenile. Rowe observed said vehicle above the truck pull off and he turned to pursue, but the vehicle refused to stop. Rowe and Kopec pursued the vehicle for approximately one quarter mile when he lost control and crashed the vehicle into the ditch. He was taken into custody and charged with Escape from a Juvenile Center; Entering Without Breaking; Grand Larceny; Fleeing in a vehicle; No Operators; Reckless Driving; Leaving the scene of an accident and Petit Larceny.
