With the help of the activities department, the Friends of Cortland Acres held their annual Apple Butter Stir last Friday at Cortland Acres in Thomas. Residents and friend took turns stirring the pot during the 8-hour cooking process. Activities Director Marie Grafton said the pot produces about 150 pints of apple butter. The Friends of Cortland sell the pints and use the funds for projects at Cortland, which offers long- and short-term care, rehabilitation services, apartments and duplexes on the campus.
