Ten men from Mettiki Coal mine near Mt. Storm, WV were honored at the Oakland Chapter #11 awards banquet for their life saving efforts. The young man pictured not holding an award was electrocuted when working underground on a continuous miner. Each man who received an award had a helping hand in reviving and transporting him outside to a waiting helicopter within a 30 minute timeframe.
