The fourth annual homecoming of the historic St. George Academy Saturday, June 27, 2026 was well attended with many of the attendees coming from out of state. Attendees viewed museum items honoring local heritage, looked-for old-school pictures of dates they attended the school as well as it’s history. Local authors, Tom Felton, Carl Feather and Laura Mauzy were there autographing their books. Paul Mauzy, Board President, announced and crowned the 4th Academy Homecoming Queen, Priscilla (Nestor) Flanagan. She attended the Academy when she was in the 7th grade and recounted things she had learned and from her teacher, Mr. Alston White. After the queen crowning, punch and cookies were served and Mitch McClure, paraded the queen through St. George in his side by side. Mitch also supplied music for the event. A yard sale and snow cones were sold to raise money to paint the Academy. Donations are welcome and needed for the Academy restoration and can be sent to the St. George Academy, One Academy Lane, Parsons, WV 26287.
