ELKINS, W.Va. – The agents and staff of Allegheny Insurance Services, Inc. support The American Cancer Society Relay for Life on an annual basis, and that commitment to community involvement recently got a $3,500 boost.

Safeco Insurance, a carrier that shares Allegheny’s dedication to supporting local charitable causes, is donating $3,500 to The American Cancer Society Relay for Life as part of its “Make More Happen Award” program. That donation will enhance efforts to cure cancer.

“I’m incredibly proud of the charitable contributions our agents make to The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. We’re pleased to represent Safeco – a company that shares the same values,” said Jay Wallace, president of Allegheny Insurance Services.

Allegheny Insurance’s commitment to Relay for Life is a tribute to Allegheny agent Cindee Campbell. Campbell is an 11-year cancer survivor, matching the number of years Allegheny has been a Gold Sponsor of the Randolph County Relay for Life.

“Since 2003, our Relay for Life team, the Allegheny All-nighters, has raised thousands of dollars to help fund cancer research, education and advocacy, in addition to the agency’s annual corporate sponsorship,” Wallace said. “Safeco’s recognition of our efforts not only is great recognition for our team, but it provides additional support for cancer patients.”

Allegheny Insurance, an independent agency, has been a Safeco agent for more than two decades, beginning in May 1994.
