Members of The Mountaineer Garden Club cruised through neighborhoods seeking the welcome signs of spring and found many enchanting yards blooming with flowers.

Business Yard of the Month was given to St. John’s Methodist Church. The sign announcing St John’s had evergreens on either side with multiple colored tulips, various daffodils and many grape hyacinths accented by early Hosta which welcomed spring.
Phyllis Kidwell’s craftsman style home on Railroad Avenue received the residential Yard of the Month. The home was accented by dogwood trees in bloom with raised flowerbeds full of tulips, daffodils and grape hyacinths, also present was a flowerbed with Hosta peeping through fresh mulch, garden ornaments and iron kettles ready for annual plantings.
