Boy Scouts Erect Memorial Flag Pole

Boy Scott troop #675 (Leader:  Paulita Cousin)  set and raised the flag pole at the St. George Community Park on June 22, 2013 as part of their community service projects.   Troop members; Jakob Cousin, Benjie Wray, Alex Wray, and Thomas Evans,  along with their parents and park board members set the pole and raised the flag in  honor of Paul “Spoon” Bohon at 10 a.m. to start the celebration.  Boy Scott 1The park is used throughout the spring, summer and fall months for family reunions, birthdays, weddings, etc.   The St. George United Methodist  Church and St. George Church of God  also participated in the day celebrations with hot dog dinners, chicken burn dinners, silent auctions, and  community yards with the day ending at the  annual cake walk at the United Methodist Church.  Sunday events where the homecoming covered dish meal and gospel sing starting at 1 .pm. at the U.M. church.
