Did you know that Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge offers free hunt blinds? Well they do. If you are a hunter with mobility issues this may be a way to continue your passion for hunting. Canaan NWR has two hunt blinds, one on the Beall Tract and the other located off Timberline Road.

The blinds are only accessible by permit. To obtain a permit stop by the main office during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The main office is located at 6263 Appalachian Hwy, Davis, WV 26260.

All you need to bring is your driver’s license and Special Class Q or QQ hunting license. You can make reservation for the day of your choice (if blind is not already reserved). Hunters are allowed to have an assistant whom would not be allowed to hunt but can provide assistance.

For more information please contact Matthew Boarman at Matthew_Boarman@fws.gov or 304-866-3858.
