The featured business on this year’s Christmas House Tours, scheduled for December first, is Stevens’ Florist. Located at 20 Poplar St. in downtown Parsons, Stevens’ is the only florist shop in the city. They specialize in a wide array of floral designs for all types of occasions and holidays such as weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays and proms. Stevens is a full service florist with a greenhouse for vegetable plants and flowers from which customers can shop.  They make their own local deliveries and arrange with other florists for long distance needs.

Ethel Stevens purchased the floral shop from Shrader’s Florists in 1962. The shop is currently owned by her daughter, Deloris McDonald and run by HER daughter, (Ethel’s granddaughter), Leana Johnson. She is assisted by Ethel’s great niece, Karen Burns, Deloris’s retired brother, Lawrence Stevens, and Cathy Jones. They are currently grieving the death of recent employee, Gail Kalar (81) who worked in the shop from 2002-2017.

All of the employees have been busy getting ready for the holidays and the House Tours. Come and see the beauty of flowers this holiday season by attending the tours on Friday, December first from 5-9:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Shop ‘N Save and City Hall in Parsons, and The Visitor’s Center in Davis for $5. Tickets will also be available at the door of each location for $7, which covers all six locations. Each location will have an item up for raffle for a cost of $1 per ticket or six for $5, so you may want to bring some extra cash with you. In order to lessen parking issues, you may chose to car pool. It’s also more fun! Participants may do the tour in any order they choose. Locations are printed on each ticket.

The Parsons Christmas House Tours are sponsored by Citizen’s Bank and Mountain Valley Bank. The tours are hosted by PRO ON TRAC. All Proceeds go towards the continued revitalization of downtown Parsons. PRO ON TRAC is a “Run For It” team sponsor.
