HORSESHOE, PARSONS, WV – College students looking to challenge themselves and grow in a positive environment with the opportunity to impact the lives of youth will want to check out Horseshoe Leadership Center.

“College-age students with excellent organizational and people skills are a great fit for our program, particularly if they have energy and a passion for helping shape the generation that immediately follows,” said Tom Starr, Executive Director.
“Horseshoe summer AmeriCorps members make all the difference in the lives of campers,” he continued. “For teens and children, summer camp at Horseshoe means fun and friendship and it means that and much more for our summer counselors. The bonds that are formed are genuine and long-lasting. Working together, they grow as they help our campers do the same. When everyone returns home, they are ready to help others and build better futures for all.”
Horseshoe’s summer season includes nationally-recognized teen civic leadership and entrepreneurship camps, Adventure Camp for 7 – 12 year olds, and Youth Opportunity Camps for low- income boys and girls.
Summer positions provide a living allowance and a Segal Education Award to eligible AmeriCorps members, along with meals, and lodging.

For information, call Horseshoe at (304) 478-2481, e-mail sharon@yla-youthleadership.org or write Horseshoe Leadership Center at 3309 Horseshoe Run Rd., Parsons, WV 26287-9029.
