Cortland Foundation Presents Proceeds to ProStartRecently Lois Nelson, Cortland Foundation Director, presented the Tucker County High School ProStart program with its share of the proceeds from the Pasta Palooza held in June this year.  ProStart is the culinary arts program for the high school led by Brian Covell, ProStart Instructor/Culinary Educator.  From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides real-life experience opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime.  Pictured accepting the check are:  Chef Covell and students:  Reba Bates, Jakob Cousin, Kellen Dunn, Alexander Dyer, Carley Eye, Tenya Goosby Hiser, Kristy Heckler, Rocky Hubbard, Dayton Jones, James Michael, Danielle Moore, Kira Perlin, Logan Pitzer, Gerald Stevens, and Summer Vance.  Not pictured is JR Helmick, Assistant Administrator and strong supporter of the ProStart program. The Cortland Foundation’s mission is to secure the resources necessary to enhance the health and well-being of the Cortland Community.  For more information, visit www.cortlandacres.org, call 304-463-4181 or follow the Foundation on Facebook.
