Elkins, WV – Members of Boy Scout Troop 88 are one step closer to Summer Camp with the completion of their student physicals at the Davis Medical Center Cancer Care Center last week. Each year, local physicians donate their time to provide free health evaluations necessary for camp participation.

“It continues DMC’s mission to bring better health to our community,” said Cancer Center nurse Debbie Tysor, RN.  Tysor is no stranger to the Boy Scout program.  Her son Zach achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2017, and she and husband Roger have been Assistant Troop leaders for many years.

“The local scouting community really appreciates the support of the physicians who make this service available to our students,” said activity coordinator Karen Seel.

Free student athletic physicals for kids through grade 12, are available throughout the year at DirectCare of Elkins.  No appointment is necessary.  DirectCare is located at 720 Beverly Pike in Elkins beside Bob Evans Restaurant.
