ELKINS, WV – Most everyone recognizes that organ donation helps save lives – and just one person’s gift has the potential to help up to eight people while tissue donors can improve the lives of up to 50 people.

April is designated at National Donate Life Month and the Leadership Team and employees of Davis Medical Center (DMC) along with those from the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) will host a flag raising event at 11 a.m. April 9 in front of the DMC Visitor Entrance on Gorman Avenue near the Gift Garden.

A reception will follow with refreshments, and additional information presented by DMC and CORE detailing the importance of organ, eye and tissue donations and increasing the number of registered donors.

Members of the community who are organ donors or organ recipients are invited to attend the event along with other medical and emergency medical personnel. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming an organ donor is invited to attend the flag raising and reception.

To find out more about becoming a registered donor visit www.donatelifewv.org or www.core.org.
