PARSONS, W.Va.– A portion of Forest Road 701, Elklick Road, on the Fernow Experimental Forest near Parsons will be closed up to three weeks beginning Tuesday, September 17. The closure will allow crews to repair a slip-prone area on the road.
The road will be closed near the John B. Hollow drainage to Wilson Hollow drainage. The public may access Forest Road 701 north of the closed portion by traveling from Parsons on County Route 219/7 for approximately 0.8 miles.
To access Forest Road 701 south of the closed portion, travel south from Parsons on County Route 41 to Forest Road 828, Sugar Camp Run, to Forest Road 701. Work signs will be posted onsite.
