Hinkle House Food Panty held its Christmas Distribution for 2025 on Thursday, Dec. 18 with a drive thru pick up supervised by local law enforcement. A total of 234 baskets were given out which will feed 588 clients.
The food pantry started in 1971 with 30 baskets being given out and has grown to close to 250 at present. This may reach the 250 or over by Christmas as more requests come in.
Each basket contained a full Christmas dinner with home-made cookies from the cookie drive resulting in 265 dozen donated. Local businesses donated bulk meat and other food items. One individual donated 50 turkeys alone and all hands were on deck to keep the operation event free.
Many helping hands were included in distribution and clean up.
