ELKINS, W.Va., – Monongahela National Forest is accepting applications for two Resource Assistant internships sponsored by the Greening Youth Foundation, one position is in Parsons and the other is based in Marlinton. These full-time internships begin this fall and last for 11 months.
These interns will organize partner meetings to help develop a shared natural resource and recreation vision, actively seek out opportunities for the Forest Service to integrate more fully into communities, and coordinate events and activities to promote the outdoors to people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Interns will become eligible for a noncompetitive hiring authority certificate after 960 hours.
“This is an exciting opportunity to gain on-the-ground experience in multiple resource areas with the Forest Service and our many partners,” said District Ranger Cynthia Sandeno. “If you have strong communication skills and would enjoy working with partners and communities in the mountains of West Virginia, we want to hear from you!”
