Elkins, WV – Davis Medical Center (DMC) welcomes Matthew Maynard, PA-C to the caregiving team of the DMC Pain Management Center.

Maynard, an Elkins native, recently completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Alderson Broaddus University. He received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is the recipient of several prestigious academic scholarships.

“I am excited to be a part of the Pain Management team at Davis Medical Center. It is rewarding and almost surreal to be representing my hometown of Elkins. I hope to be a positive influence on the facility and ultimately contribute to the overall well-being of all individuals who I come in contact with.”

“We’re pleased to have Matt join our team of providers,” said Carl Nichols, V.P. of Professional Services. “It’s especially rewarding when we are able to recruit young professionals back to the area. He’s a great addition to Davis Medical.”

At the Pain Management Center, Maynard joins physician and Medical Director Mohamed Fahim, M.D. in the diagnosis and treatment of those suffering from chronic pain. Dr. Fahim is board certified in pain management, anesthesiology, and critical care medicine.

The Center specializes in relief from chronic pain without the use of narcotics. Treatment is available for conditions like back pain, cancer pain, head and neck pain, joint pain, nerve pain and others.

As part of his formal medical education, Maynard completed clinical rotations in cardiology, family medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, surgery, Ob/Gyn, psychiatry, internal medicine, and neurology. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Matthew is the son of Ken and Ralphene Maynard of Elkins.

The Pain Management Center is located in the new DMC outpatient center in Elkins. More information about the center and its services can be received by calling 304.637.3533.
