Local McDonald’s restaurants are looking to immediately hire 4,800 new employees. A special hiring event is being held with individuals being able to text ‘apply’ to 38000. Participating locations throughout the region are holding events, which include immediate onsite interviews on June 24 and 25. Open positions include shift leaders, service team members, kitchen team members, and guest experience leads.

Locally owned and operated McDonald’s restaurants in Appalachia provide on-the-job training, schedule flexibility, a fun work environment and a host of benefits available to suit the needs of any candidate. Participating McDonald’s locations allow employees to access discounted McDonald’s items at many McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S.

Whether a candidate is looking for a summer job, a side gig, or a career, McDonald’s restaurant jobs have provided the foundation to help drive long-term success for generations.

Since 2015, McDonald’s has provided access for more than 90,500 restaurant employees through the McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program. Through the Archways to Opportunity program, employees at participating restaurant locations can work toward a college degree program and earn tuition assistance. Additionally, Archways to Opportunity can help employees on a path to success by supporting a high completion program, improving English skills, and help making education and career plans through advisors. More than 70,000 McDonald’s Restaurant employees have been awarded college tuition assistance and more than $230 million has been awarded in high school and college tuition assistance since the program’s creation.

1 in 8 Americans have worked at a McDonald’s restaurant, and are living proof that a job at McDonald’s is more than just serving burgers and fries. A survey McDonald’s conducted found that more than 70% of the 1 in 8 say the Golden Arches are where they learned key skills they’ve used throughout their careers. Job seekers can visit jobs.mchire.com to learn more and apply to a restaurant near them, or text ‘apply’ to 38000 to start an application via text.
