Bradley Dow Duckworth, age 49, of Berkeley Springs, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Born on July 7, 1975. Brad was a lifelong resident of West Virginia and a man whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was known for his easy going spirit and the biggest heart you could ever imagine. Brad loved deeply and lived generously.

He was the beloved fiancé of Cher Haynes, and a proud and loving father to his son, Bradley Dow Duckworth II. Brad also embraced the role of a father figure to Cher’s sons, Bayle and Mickey Johnson, whom he loved as his own.

Brad is survived by his father, James F. Duckworth III (Maryann), his brothers, Brian Duckworth (Jennifer), Bruce Duckworth (Dale) and Brent Duckworth (Lori), his former wife and good friend, Barbara Duckworth, Uncle Milton Duckworth and Aunt Sandra Fletcher. He will also be remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Valerie Mulcahy Duckworth, Aunt Mary Francis Geiger, whose memories Brad held close to his heart throughout his life.

Brad’s greatest joy came from the people and animals he loved. He was a devoted cat dad to Alpha and Pariz, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and laughter. Whether he was spending time with family, helping a friend in need or enjoying quiet moments at home, Brad brought warmth and love in every space he entered.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV, where the family received friends from Noon until service time. Pastor Tom Snyder officiated.

In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Horses with Hearts at www.horseswithhearts.org , a therapeutic riding program that was very special to his son and a cause Brad deeply supported.

Brad’s kindness, loyalty and big heart will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.helsleyjohnsonfh.com.
