Sue Simpson, Vice President/Business Banking at the Keyser Branch of M&T, presented a grant from the M & T Charitable Foundation to Robert Burns, Executive Director of Tucker Community Foundation on opening day of Tucker Boulder Park

With a long history of supporting local communities, the M&T Charitable Foundation recently made a second grant supporting the Tucker Boulder Park project. This grant will help with the purchase and installation of the third and final boulder planned for the park.

M& T Bank was founded on the belief that banks exist to help people and communities succeed. This quote, taken from their web site, reinforces that belief, “We make sure we understand what’s important to our constituents, employees and customers because their success drives our own. We work hard every day to make a difference in people’s financial lives – and in the communities we serve – to build a better future for all of us.”

The community enhancement project, led by Tucker Community Foundation, is funded with donations and grant support. To date more than $400,000 has been secured for the project. Fundraising is underway to raise $80,000 for the intermediate boulder. The park is free and open to the public daily until dusk.

Tucker Community Foundation serves eight counties: Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph, and Tucker counties in West Virginia, and Garrett County, Maryland. For more information about Tucker Boulder Park visit www.tcrocks.org  or www.facebook.com/tuckerboulderpark.
