The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Haden Michael Wamsley, of Hambleton, was charged with felony counts of Sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust and prohibiting sexual intercourse, sexual intrusion, or sexual contact against students by school employees. According to the complaint, on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 Trooper G.P. Hahn received an email from superintendent of the BOE for Tucker County who advised him that she had received an anonymous phone call regarding a teacher. The caller was said to have stated that the suspect was allegedly in an inappropriate relationship with a Tucker County High School student. She advised that the suspect, as well as the victim, denied the allegations of having been in a relationship and that the only physical contact between them had been a “hug”. She went on by stating that she had placed a CPS Referral on Sept. 9, 2026 at 9 a.m.
She continued the email stating that the principal at the Tucker County High School had advised her that the victim had come to the office to speak with the counselor and allegedly admitted that she and the suspect had “made out” a couple times with the most recent time being on Aug. 28, 2026. The victim also was said to have expressed her displeasure due to the fact that the suspect had “blocked her” on Sept. 3, 2026. She advised that the counselor at TCHS had also made a CPS referral in addition to the one she had submitted. Hahn attempted to contact a few of the parties involved to no avail.
