Elkins, WV – Davis Medical Center’s V.P. of Physician Practices Carl Nichols, MBA, CMPE is one of fifty-five West Virginians invited to participate in the 2015 Class of Leadership West Virginia.

NicholsLeadership West Virginia is a statewide education and leadership development program aimed at developing, strengthening and connecting the state’s emerging leaders. Participants in the eight-month program enhance personal leadership skills and enrich their understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the Mountain State.

“Each year, the class participants are selected from a list of top-quality applicants from around the state. Individuals are selected into the program because they demonstrate leadership skills and experiences in civic activities, public affairs and in their professional careers,” said Pam Farris, Executive Director of Leadership West Virginia.

Nichols says he looks forward to sharing the Leadership 2015 experience with others who like himself, have a passion for advancing West Virginia as a great place to live, work and play.

ichols has devoted his career to healthcare. As V.P. of Physician Practices he oversees DMC’s newly constructed Outpatient Center which includes diagnostic and surgical services and general and specialty physician offices. The integration of these separate services into one space is a new model for regional healthcare said Nichols.

“The objective is a patient-centered care experience. One that offers more choice, greater convenience, and better efficiencies while still delivering outstanding patient safety, quality and overall satisfaction.”

“We make our patients and the physicians who care for them a priority.”

Nichols holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Fairmont State University and completed his MBA at West Virginia University. He is an active member of the Elks Lodge 1135, Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Elkins.
