Parsons Volunteer Fire Department would like to welcome three new probationary firefighters;  Slayter Liller , Hunter Mahanes and Terry Moore who have recently completed all the state-mandated training to become active duty members. The PVFD is proud to announce with these three additional members they now have forty active members to serve our response area.

PVFD Company 10  Chief Kevin White said, “We spend many hours recruiting new members so we can maintain a  high number of responders. In today’s society there are fewer people who are able or willing to volunteer what little time they have available, so our strategy over the last ten years has been to maintain a large roster  to help fill this gap. PVFD has seen an increase in call volume over the last few years, with more auto accidents and rescue situations being the lead reason. We have a very solid base of firemen that make a large portion of our calls and with a large roster there are those that can always fill in. With most people working longer hours and away from home, we feel that this approach is important to our service.”
