The Davis Town Council met for regular session with Jeannette Ware and Al Tomson both absent.

Upon the reading of the third Post Office Parking Ordinance Amendment there was discovered a flaw in the ordinance with the direction of the way the parking spots were to be laid out. At that time, Mayor Martin ripped the paper of the Ordinance in half. This Ordinance will have to be revised and brought back before the council for approval. The third reading of the Building Ordinance and Building Permit Application were read and unanimously approved.

Brian Sarfino, on behalf of the Davis Planning Commission, informed the board “We plan on coming to meetings regularly.” The Planning Commission will be hosting the Mountain Bike Festival, although on a lighter scale than previous years, in June.

Jaydee Kennard asked the board, “Do you want to discuss personnel matters on the floor or go into executive session?” The council voted to move to executive session, at which time they did.

Motion was made to set a date for the towns Spring Cleanup Day. Derek Huffman and Robert Leary, both town employes had vacation requests approved.

The council agreed to approve the two building permits it had received, grandfathering in the previous ordinance and permit application stipulations. These permits were applied for before the final reading of the ordinance at this meeting.

Ike Kahlar-NYSC, spoke of waste water issues they are having at the CVI building on Route 93. “We want to add in trails, primitive campsites, and cabins,” Kahlar added. They are seeking permission from the town to connect to their waste water. Mayor Martin said “I sent the letters to the DEP, we’re at the DEPs mercy now.”

Ross Hoppe and Matt Hauger presented to the council about Cotrill’s Opera House seeking a letter of support from the town for grant applications. When asked if the building was worth putting all this money into Hauger replied, “Us and our experts believe so.”

The meeting was adjorned with the next meeting being at 6: p.m. on May 26, 2021.
