The Tucker Community Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its yearly Run For It campaign on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The campaign will conclude with a 2k walk and a 5k walk/run on September 27, 2025, in Davis, WV, in conjunction with the annual Leaf Peepers Festival. Participants and teams can register for the race starting April 1, 2025.
To register, individuals and teams can easily sign up online by visiting runsignup.com/Race/WV/Davis/RunForIt or completing the Individual and Team Registration Forms on the Foundation’s website at https://tuckerfoundationwv.org/run-for-it. We strongly encourage all participants to register online to simplify the registration process. Team registration for in-person and virtual races ends on August 31, 2025, and individual registration for in-person and virtual races ends on September 21, 2025.
Run For It is more than just a race; it’s a fundraising opportunity that supports a wide range of causes, making a positive difference in the communities we serve. The program has generated over $3.2 million for non-profit and charitable organizations in Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Pocahontas, Preston, Randolph, and Tucker Counties in West Virginia, as well as Garrett County, Maryland. We are excited to welcome teams from Pendleton and Upshur Counties for the first time! The causes supported include the arts, animal welfare, challenged athletes, charities, churches, civic organizations, community improvement projects, cultural organizations, educational activities, emergency services, environmental causes, historic preservation, hospital and medical programs, libraries and literacy programs, parks and recreation, senior citizen programs, Tucker Community Foundation operations, and youth organizations.
According to Angie Pase, Development Director for the Tucker Community Foundation and Run For It Event Coordinator, “Non-profit and charitable organizations in our region often struggle with limited resources, but Run For It encourages these organizations to leverage their resources to gain critical operational support. The program has been extremely successful, serving as a valuable networking opportunity that has united various agencies, programs, projects, and individuals to promote a healthy lifestyle and regional philanthropy. We strongly encourage all non-profit and charitable organizations in our service region to take part in this unique fundraising opportunity.”
Over the past 17 years, Run For It has had a positive impact on the local economy by attracting serious racers and families to the area and supporting local businesses. In 2024, the event attracted 1,405 walkers and runners and raised $332,000. These funds helped 79 non-profit organizations and groups within our service area and beyond!
