An endowment to support Tucker County Economic and Community Development continues to build with a recent donation from E.L. Robinson Engineering.
E. L. Robinson Engineering, a West Virginia based civil engineering firm, was founded in 1978 by Edward L. Robinson, company president. The company has grown from 4 initial employees to over 100 full-time experienced professionals and support personal located throughout 8 offices in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
According to Haws, “E.L. Robinson Engineering has been dedicated to supporting community improvement throughout West Virginia for over 35 years. We see the great things being accomplished in Tucker County by its citizens and by the Tucker Community Foundation. E.L. Robinson Engineering is excited to contribute to the establishment of the Tucker County Economic & Community Development Fund and to play a small part in supporting the job creation and job retention efforts in Tucker County.”
The endowment, created and managed by Tucker Community Foundation, needs to reach $10,000 before it generates support for activities related to job creation, job retention and general improvement to the business climate. The Foundation is matching donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000. To date, the total market value of the fund is $3,400.
A special grants committee comprised of three representatives from the Foundation; one member at large and a representative from the Planning Commission, Development Authority Board and County Commission will make recommendations for distributions from the fund.
