The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on March 3, 2020. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “God Bless America”.

Linda Bonner read the minutes of the February meeting and they were approved as read. Those having March birthdays were recognized. Those present were Brenda Jones, Mary Grado, Earl Moore, and Evelyn Moore. The group sang “Happy Birthday” to them.

Linda Bonner read a poem titled “Marvels of March” followed by a recitation about sisters by Annabelle Moore. Arlene Ramsey read “Sunshine and Laughter” then Kenny Knotts read “Last Snow.”

Linda told about the upcoming Census forms and how important it is that we fill them out. There will be people here from the Census Bureau on April 2nd at 10:30 to help anyone who needs help filling out the forms.

Our entertainment for the day was Dennis Filler. He had an Electronic Wind Instrument, a silver trumpet from 1967, and a copper trumpet that was played in the Pacific Theater during WW2. His selections included: “’Til There Was You,” “Irresistible You,” “Autumn Leaves,” “Georgia,” “The Nearness of You,” “Red Roses For a Blue Lady,” “More,” “The Way You Look Tonight,” and “ What a Wonderful World.”

A blessing on the food was given Ken Knotts before we enjoyed a fantastic meal. Dennis continued to play during lunch much to the delight of the audience.

Door prizes were won by: Virgil Knotts, Shirley Cassidy, and Ruth Connell.
