The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost (first one in 18 months!) at the Parsons Center on September 14, 2021. Linda Bonner welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “God Bless America”.

Betty Sturm read a poem titled “September Morn” followed Whitney Matlick reading “Who is a Senior Citizen”. Linda then had the computer play the official song of Grandparents Day titled “Grandparents Day” by Johnny Prill then read an account of an 8 year old child titles “What are Grandparents?” Arlene Ramsey then read “Grandma’s Rocking Chair” and all grandparents were recognized.

Pastor Ruth Bullwinkle from Davis then entertained us with several selections with her hand bells. She was accompanied on the piano by Beverly Ellison.

A blessing on the food was given by Linda Bonner before we enjoyed a             fantastic meal. During the meal Linda pulled up “The Cheat Valley Waltz” by Doug Spears. It tells a story of our local area including the flood of 1985.

Door prizes were won by: Virginia Popio, Nellie Workman, Joyce Metheny, and Sue Carroll.
