Parsons Senior Center outpost met on April 1, 2025. Sharon Daniels led everyone in reciting the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Jean Morrison played piano and led the singing of “God Bless America”. Happy birthday was sung to Rita Roberts, Sharon Cassidy, and Kenny Knotts.

Sharon Daniels read an article about April Fool’s Day and read some of Art Linkletter’s stories of “Kids Say the Darndest Things”. Jean Morrison introduced Ida Mohr who talked of her German family history of several generations living under communism. Mrs. Mohr was accompanied by her mother, Ingrid M. Johnson.

Tim Turner, Senior Center Director mentioned the sign-up for a trip to the Sight N Sound Theater to see the play “Noah” and that a transit company was hoping to expand into this area to provide local trips. Linda Bonner encouraged seniors to sign up to participate in the Senior Olympics coming June 10-13. Door prizes were won by Sylvia Rosenau and Virginia Popio.

On April 17 festivities will start at 10:30. The choir will sing, the Easter bunny will arrive, there will be an egg hunt, and there will be an Easter bonnet parade. Bring your decorated bonnet and join in the fun. For questions, call the center at 304-478-2423.
