The St. George United Methodist Women met Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the church.  The meeting was called to order by Jane Pifer and opening prayer said by Ellen Shaffer.  After the pledge of allegiance, opening song, and numerous readings on Thanksgiving, Judy Fairbanks shared memories of Thanksgiving after the 1985 flood.

Sharon Daniels told she had attended a Bible Study at Neal and Carroll Precht’s home which was such a blessing. After the roll call, Treasurer’s Report and Secretary’s Report, it was noted that November is also Thank Offering month in our district. This will be our out-of-county mission for November.

A donation to Warm the Children as well as Hospice Care will be our in-county mission for the month. The October Fall Festival at St. George Park was a wonderful success raising money for the upkeep of the park.  Our donations for Undie Sunday, also in October, were numerous and brought in many packages of underwear for those in need.

Nancy Dotson spoke about November being National Hospice Month and a remembrance of veterans.  The evening’s lesson was taught by Priscilla Flanagan on II Timothy.  Others in attendance not mentioned above were:  Juanita Nestor, Sandy Shaffer, Lucille Adams, Melinda Pennington, Martha Spessert, Debbie Stemple, Katee Moore, Carol Weinstein, Lisa Jones, and Cathy Barr.
