Many of you have probably asked why PRO ON TRAC has not had “The Christmas House” on its annual House Tour. The “Christmas House,” of course, is the A-frame located at 304 Pennsylvania Avenue that dons many twinkling lights and outside decorations.

Well, this year the abundantly lit house will be one of the six stops on the PRO Christmas House Tour. This residence, owned by Gary and Lynn Lipscomb, was built after the Flood of 1985 destroyed the houses in the area. It is a story and a half structure with two bedrooms and a bath upstairs and a downstairs master bedroom, living room, and kitchen.

According to Lynn Lipscomb, “I love Christmas so much, and I have been decorating for over 30 years. When the A-frame is decorated with all the lights, it reminds me of a house at the North Pole.”

The Lipscombs have lived on Tannery Row for over 50 years. Before the flood, they lived in one of the original single two-story homes. Lipscomb tells us, “the first owners of their old house kept a cow in the backyard and sold the milk to the neighbors.” The Lipscombs loved the area so much, they re-built in the same area of town.

You can be assured that this house will be as festively decorated inside as well as outside.
PRO ON TRAC House Tours which will be held on Friday night, December 6 from 5-9 p.m. Tickets will be available from the PRO Office at City Hall, from any PRO Board Member and at various business sites. Advanced tickets are $8. They are $10 at the door.
