Parsons Volunteer Fire Department responded to a oil spill on 219 south, along with WV DOH, WV State Police , Tucker OEM and Tucker EMS. PVFD Chief White said, “All of these entities came together as a team and worked approximately four hours in cleaning up 100 gallons of hydraulic oil that had been spilled on 219 south just outside of Parsons”. AWhite said Kingsford Manufacturers supplied a pallet of oil dry and WV Paving offered assistance. Co 10 responded five units and 12 men. “Tucker 911 was key in the efforts as they made contacts with environmental agencies and other resources. This is great example of all our emergency services coming together and working as a team” stated Chief 10. Some motorists chose to wait for traffic to flow normally, some chose an alternative route.
