The Tucker Community Foundation (TCF) announces with regret that Diane Hinkle, Development Director for the Foundation, will be retiring in December 2017.

During Diane’s tenure with the Foundation the level of community engagement between the Foundation and the communities it serves expanded significantly. She worked to bring TCF into the public arena. The number of endowed funds overseen by the Foundation grew to 120. Diane initiated and organized Run For It, a major fundraising event for non-profit organizations across the region. In 2016 there were more than 1,000 runners and walkers registered for the event which generated over $170,000 in awards to organizations that year while creating more than $1.2 Million over its lifetime.

She was instrumental in establishing the Potomac Highlands Food and Farm Initiative which supports local farms and other producers of food products through a retail market and technical assistance. This enterprise is based in Davis, WV and focused around The Highland Market. In addition to her successful work with prospective and current donors, she has recently brought to fruition the Tucker Boulder Park project in Davis, WV. The park features climbing boulders for children and adults and adds one more outdoor activity for visitors to the area and residents.

Hinkle served on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for some years including serving as its President before leaving the board. Shortly after that, she accepted the position of Development Director. She also serves on the Tucker County Commission. Her dedication to working for the public good has been boundless.

A search for her replacement is currently underway. The Tucker Community Foundation serves eight counties, seven in West Virginia and one in Maryland, and awards more than $1.3 million in grants and scholarships annually.
