It was great to be back at Camp Kidd and see all the smiling faces of our 4-Hers’ and volunteers. We held a series of day camps running several days in the month of June 2021.

Monday June 7 , Agricultural day got us started with the day campers exploring biosecurity, hydrogels, planted strawberries and learned about bare root plants.   They also created their own brands & broke down a chicken carcass.

Wednesday June 9, Adulting day, campers learned basic self-defense, basic sewing skills, vehicle maintenance, how to write and balance a check book, first aid and cooked up a mean stir fry.

Monday June 14 , it was crafts galore at our Craft Day. Campers created friendship bracelets, canvas painting, string art, tie dye and candy arrangements.

Monday June 21 , Sewing day participants made sewing tote bags, a potholder and an apron.

Our three-day camp started on Wed June 23  – Friday June 25 , the campers did soap making, wood burning, fishing lots and lots of fishing, golfing, tie dyed shirts, went swimming at AB pool and learned the proper etiquette of how to fold an American Flag.

Monday June 28 , ATV safety where they learned how to safely operate and enhance their riding skills.

Ending our June camp series on Wednesday June 30, with outdoor recreation campers enjoyed more fishing, capture the flag and minute to win it games. The Extension office would like to say HOW! HOW! to all our instructors, volunteers and camp cooks. As a service project the campers painted barn quilts which will be displayed on the buildings at Camp Kidd.
