Tucker Valley Girls’ & Boys’ Basketball Update

The Tucker Valley Boys’ Basketball team traveled Belington on Wednesday January 25th.

In the first contest the Wildcat JV team fell in the game 47-28. Dominick Mullenax led Tucker Valley with 7 points, 6 rebounds and Clay Poling finished with 6 points in the loss. The Wildcat Varsity team put up a good fight in the second contest, but fell in a close game 40-37. Wyatt Betler led the way for Tucker Valley with 11 points and Gus Mullennex added 9 points. Zack Long chipped in 8 points for Tucker Valley and Long collected 10 rebounds.

On Thursday January 26th Tucker Valley traveled to Elkins for 2 games. In the JV contest the Hornets knocked off the Wildcats 44-23. Dominick Mullenax led the way for Tucker Valley with 7 points. Clay Poling, Wesley Strawderman, Brandon Knotts and Conner Evick each had 4 points in the loss for Tucker Valley. In the last contest of the night the Tucker Valley Varsity team fell by the final score of 50-44. Wyatt Betler led the Wildcats with 17 points.

Zack Long and Tate Mullenax added 8 points each for Tucker Valley in the loss. Gus Mullennex pulled down 11 rebounds for Tucker Valley and chipped in 7 points.

The Lady Wildcats Basketball teams hosted Belington on Wednesday January 25th. In the JV contest Tucker Valley fell in a close game 15-14. Vivianna Teter led Tucker Valley with 8 points. In the Varsity contest the Lady Wildcats picked up the win 41-20. Jordan Surguy led Tucker Valley in scoring with 16 points and London Hood added 13 points in the win.

On Thursday January 26th the Lady Wildcats played Elkins at home. In the first contest the JV team fell in the contest by the final score of 28-20. Corinna Lipscomb led Tucker Valley with 8 points. The Varsity team took the victory over Elkins in the second game of the night 31-17. Karlee Smith led the Lady Wildcats with 17 points and London Hood added 10 points for Tucker Valley in the win.
