West Virginia Department of Human Services Announces closure of LIEAP Application Period

Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) announced today that it will stop accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) at the close of business on Monday, February 9, 2026, due to the exhaustion of regular LIEAP funding.

All applications submitted through the PATH portal by February 9, 2026, as well as mailed applications postmarked on or before that date, will continue to be accepted and processed.

For further assistance or questions, please contact your local DoHS office, or call the Office of Constituent Services’ Client Services Unit at 1-800-642-8589, or email osaclientservices@wv.gov.

The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) provides a wide range of necessary and life-saving services to many West Virginia residents. DoHS includes the Bureau for Social Services, Bureau for Medical Services, Bureau for Child Support Enforcement, Bureau for Family Assistance, Bureau for Behavioral Health, Office of Drug Control Policy, Commission to Study Residential Placement of Children, Family Protection Services Board, Catastrophic Illness Commission, and the WV Women’s Commission.
