St. Paul’s Church Community Dinner

St. Paul’s Church will be having its monthly free community dinner on Wednesday, October 7 at 6 p.m..

Republican Candidate Meet & Greet

The Tucker County Republican Executive Committee invites the citizens of Tucker County to Meet the Republican Candidates running for office this November 3. Join us October 7, 2026, 6:00 P.M., at Parsons VFD Fire Hall.

Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinics

The Tucker County Health Department will hold Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinics, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Davis Fire Hall Parking Lot from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Seasonal flu shots will be given to anyone 18 years of age and older. If you have insurance, please bring your card. You will not be charged any co-pay.

If you do not have insurance, you can still receive a flu shot at no cost. In case of inclement weather, the Parsons clinic will be held inside the Tucker County Health Department, and the Davis clinic will be held inside the Fire Hall.

Craft Show

The Five Public Library will be having a craft show, at the library. This will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. We will have crafters, a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, as well as a bake sale. Stop in for lunch! We will have hot dogs, with Propst hot dog sauce, and fresh popcorn for sale!

Friends Of Mountaintop Library Announce Free Shredding Event

THOMAS, West Virginia — The Friends of the Mountaintop Public Library, in partnership with Sunrise Shredding, is hosting a free shredding event on Saturday, October 10, from 9 am to 12 noon at the library in Thomas. Library trustees will also be holding a book sale the day of the event, and the library will be open to the public.

Individuals and small businesses are encouraged to bring paper documents for shredding in any type of container. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed but heavier metal such as binder clips and metal from spiral notebooks must be separated.

The Friends organization is sponsoring this event as a service to the community, which is part of its mission, in addition to providing financial and other types of support to the library. The Mountaintop Public Library is located at 384 2nd Street in Thomas. For more information, write to [email protected] or call 304-463-4582.

Concert And Reception At Parsons Train Depot

The Tucker County Historical Society is sponsoring a program and reception at the Parsons Train Depot featuring acclaimed songwriter and storyteller Doug Spears along with a musical opening by Dennis Filler. The date is Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Refreshments will follow.

Watercolor Painting Class

The Mountaintop Public Library will sponsor a painting class from 5 – 7p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Class will be $20 with all supplies provided. Space is limited so please RSVP by Monday, Oct. 12 at 304-463-4582.

4th Annual Sticks and Stones

Join us in Davis for the 4th Annual Sticks and Stones. Saturday, October 17, 2026, 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Local vendors, crafting, merriment and magic making. Fun for all ages. Hosted by Emerald Tree Boutique and Sister Witches Crafting Company.
