Charleston, W.Va. — WorkForce West Virginia and the West Virginia Department of Education Career Technical Education have partnered to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week by hosting the WV Apprenticeship Showcase. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Virginia State Capitol in the Upper Rotunda.

National Apprenticeship Week, observed from April 26 to May 2, 2026, highlights the essential role that apprenticeships play in developing a skilled workforce. This showcase provides a platform for West Virginians to learn about various pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship career opportunities available throughout the state.

“We are excited to bring together such a diverse group of industries to showcase the high-quality career paths available through apprenticeships in West Virginia,” said Criss McCauley, Director of Special Programs/Apprenticeships at WorkForce West Virginia. “This event allows individuals to explore careers in everything from childcare and construction to manufacturing and culinary arts, providing a direct link between talent and opportunity.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with employers and explore apprenticeship programs in a variety of fields, including:
• Construction Trades
• Manufacturing
• Culinary Arts
• Technology and Virtual Reality Demonstrations

The event will feature a range of industries and include virtual reality demonstrations for a hands-on look at modern career fields.
