Since 1995 YouthBuild North Central has assisted our communities’ youth in building the foundation for their future. Trainees participate in a 6-9 month program where they focus on skill development and prepare for the TASC (formerly GED) in a non-traditional classroom setting while also learning the construction trade through building affordable housing within the community.

As a YouthBuilder you will learn not only educational and job skills but you will gain the tools you need to be successful in life. In the program, leadership means taking responsibility to make sure things go right for yourself, your family, and your community. Leadership activities include parenting training, personal money management courses, civic education and community involvement.

While you move through the YouthBuild program you will have opportunity to enroll in AmeriCorp and earn a Segal Education Award. YouthBuild partners with Workforce WV and will assist with job placement and college or technical school enrollment.

We are currently accepting applications and are looking for motivated individuals.

  • Do you live in Randolph, Barbour, or Tucker County?
  • Are you between the ages of 16 and 24?
  • Do you need your TASC (Formerly GED)?
  • Are you in need of Job Skills?

If you answered YES, we would like to talk to you.

Apply at: YouthBuild North Central

300 Boundary Street, Elkins WV 26241

(Next to North Elementary School in Highland Park)

Phone: 304-637-9008
