This year’s Birthday Party featured a grand prize of $10,000 that was split between Dr. Elaine Moore, Dan Bucher, Mike Cooper, Kelly Roberts, Tom Kugel, Fred Meyer, and Steve Lambruno. An additional special prize for the 25th Anniversary was the right to name a new $10,000 Endowed Fund and determine what charitable activity the fund will support. This special prize was won by Ron LaNeve of Elkins.

There was an additional raffle inside the event for three wonderful prizes. Skylar Roberts won the Totally Tucker Prize of donated items from around Tucker County including golf and ski passes, various gift certificates from local stores and restaurants, art prints from local professional artists, and other items. Chip Chase won a three day get-away weekend at The Greenbrier, and Fred Myers won the Silver Anniversary Package that included a Sliver IPad Air with a sliver case and stand and nine silver dollars. There was additional cash and door prizes.

This year’s Master of Ceremonies was Anna Patrick, daughter of the events co-creator and Master of Ceremonies for the first eleven years Tom Patrick. Donna Patrick, Tom’s wife, mother of Anna, and a Foundation Board member stated “From the very beginning the event has been a night of fun and laughter that brings folks back year after year. From the very beginning the ‘party’ has introduced the work of the Foundation to a captive audience” in the 2013 Annual Report of the Foundation.

Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party helps funds different grants and scholarships award by the Foundation to region wide charitable activities. This event had four sponsors Citizens Bank of West Virginia, Grant County Bank, Miners and Merchants Bank, and Mountain Valley Bank N.A. For additional information on the event or the Foundation can be found on the Foundation’s website www.tuckerfoundation.net or by calling (304) 478-2930.
