According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, over 16,000 people died in 2019 due to psychostimulants with methamphetamines being the most common stimulant causing these deaths. While this seems small in comparison to the 49,860 deaths caused from opiates. The number of deaths does not tell the whole story.
