Dec. 20, 2022 at approximately 1 p.m. the Davis Branch of the Grant County Bank, in Tucker County, called Tucker 911 to report a bank robbery in progress involving a white male.
The Tucker County Sheriff’s Department and the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police responded to the scene and arrested the alleged bank robber in the facility.
Tucker County Sheriff, J.E. Kopec said, “A post investigation revealed the male was 21 years of age and from New Jersey. He allegedly passed a note informing the bank teller that this is a bank robbery, give me money or else. The bank teller told the alleged robber to leave. He refused and verbalized that this was a bank robbery and to give money or else.”
The alleged bank robber was identified as Noah B. Shafron, of Wyckoff, NJ, was charged with one felony count of Robbery or Attempted Robbery. His bond was set at $100,000 and he is housed in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
No one was hurt in the incident and no money was given by the bank staff. The investigation is being handled by the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department.
