Welcome to the Chamber Corner! The Tucker County Chamber of Commerce will be highlighting a new chamber member every month in the Chamber Corner. We are excited to use this space as a way to showcase with the community our wonderful members.

The newest member to join the Chamber of Commerce is Verglas Media, owned and operated by Victoria Weeks. She is currently remodeling space in the historic Nat’l Bank of Davis buiding as office and studio space. You may have seen Vicky around out and about, often with a camera. Vicky is an active community member from riding her mountain bike at the weekly rides at five to taking photos at Uncle Sam’s dinner. Her specialties don’t just stop with the camera, she is also a web designer and videographer. She has recently designed websites for Potomac Highland Food to Farm Initiative, Meyer House B&B and Blackwater Bikes, to name a few!

Not everyone knows that prior to her and her husband, Eric’s moving here in 2012, Vicky spent 12 years working as a science media producer for NASA, traveling all over the world creating educational videos. She filmed and edited the first several films for Science On a Sphere, where images from four projectors are projected on a hanging sphere, giving the viewer a unique view of events happening on our planet, or any other. In 2014 Vicky created her first independent film last year, “Our Pale Blue Dot”, narrated by local voice talent and and Chamber member, William Peterson. The film was selected for entry into the West Virginia Filmmakers’ Festival in Sutton, WV, this October. Most recently, Verglas Media was commissioned by the Tucker County Development Authority to create “Mountains of Possibility,” a short video showcasing what it’s like to live and work here in the county.

We would like to welcome Verglas Media to the Chamber. Their new studio opening this Fall will allow Vicky to further expand their creating, shooting and editing of both stills and movies. She will be glad to talk with you about a product for your business, whether it’s a logo, website, promotional video, or some other creative program you’re considering.

If you would like to talk with Vicky more about her services or would like to inquire more about her business, feel free to contact our office 304-259-5315, call Verglas Media at (301) 980-9867, or check out their website, www.verglasmedia.com.
