The winner of Cortland Foundation’s raffle will have the choice of a Polaris 900 Ranger EPS or a Polaris 900 RZR EPS or $12,500.
The tickets cost $100 each with only 250 raffle tickets being sold. All proceeds benefit the next phase of Cortland Acres’ renovation plans, said Sam Goughnour, vice president of the Cortland Foundation.
“The Cortland Foundation Board of Directors is committed to supporting the Cortland Acres community,” Goughnour said. “This year’s goal is to continue raising funds for the renovation of existing resident rooms and common areas.”
Board members will sell raffle tickets during Thomas’ Mountaineer Days near the As I Age ______ Wall.
“Each of the 250 tickets sold have four numbers on it, starting with 000-003, 004-007, 008-011 and continuing to 996-999,” Goughnour said. “The winning ticket will be determined by the West Virginia Lottery Daily 3 drawing on Oct. 1.”
Cortland Acres Development Director Dan Bucher said that this project and the As I Age ______ Wall support the Cortland Foundation’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of the Cortland community.
“The Foundation will help Cortland Acres continue to provide and expand quality care and services to our neighbors during a time when the cost of providing that care continues to increase,” he said. “We also are excited to bring back the As I Age ______ Wall to Mountaineer Days. This wall is a powerful interactive tool that invites people passing by to stop, think and share.
“We want people to pick up a piece of chalk to share their personal aspirations in public space and complete the phrase, As I Age __________.”
To purchase a raffle ticket call Goughnour at 304-614-4674 or Lois Nelson and Dan Bucher at 304-463-4181. Donations to the Cortland Foundation are tax-deductible.
For more information about Cortland Foundation in general, contact Bucher at 304-463-4181 or email dan@cortlandacres.org.
