PARSONS – The Tucker Community Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the DeVilder Family Scholarship Fund. The new DeVilder Family Scholarship will be used to provide a scholarship to deserving Tucker County Students that will be attending a West Virginia college majoring in Engineering, STEM, Pre-Law, Business or Agricultural/Veterinary related studies.
The DeVilder Family Scholarship was created with the generous donation and support of Mike and Shelia DeVilder. William Michael (Mike) DeVilder is the son of William Frank and Nola V. DeVilder, in 1999 he married Shelia Whetzel. They have three children, Marcy Williams, Daniel Williams and Jacob DeVilder. Jacob is currently attending WVU majoring in Biochemistry.
Mike graduated Tucker County High School in 1980 and went to WVU where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering in 1984. In 1986 he obtained his master’s degree and he acquired his Professional Engineering and Professional Surveying licenses in 1995. He also earned his MBA in 2000 from WVU. Mike worked in the mining industry from 1985 to 2024 and held various management positions.
