The Hambleton Park announced Saturday, April 4th via Facebook that plans were in place to remove the existing park equipment. While the removal had been delayed due to weather, the removal should be occurring soon, the post said. The removal is to make way for the long-anticipated arrival of new equipment for the park.
“We are also excited to share that our brand-new playground equipment, which we have been fundraising for over the past two years, is scheduled to be installed during the last week of April!” the post stated.
The Park requested those visiting the park in the meanwhile to use caution while utilizing the existing equipment due to age and disrepair issues. The post stated that some equipment has been damaged due to age, as well as by use by children too large for some pieces of equipment.
“We have worked very hard over the past two years to make the park a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable place for children and families,” the post stated.
Other damage to both old and new equipment has been caused by vandalism.
“We are asking everyone to please help us protect and respect the park so that all children can continue to enjoy it for years to come. We are looking forward to the new playground being installed and appreciate everyone’s patience and support!” the post stated.
New playground equipment is expected to arrive at the Park the end of April, according to the post.
