Lady Mt. Lions improve to 5-0 with 2 blowout wins at home

HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team hosted Moorefield on December 15th. The Lady Mt. Lions exploded out of the gate and never looked back as they cruised to an easy 80-28 victory.

Tucker County led 24-1 after the first quarter and took a commanding 44-7 lead in the locker room at the half.

Coach Ambrose went to his reserve players the rest of the way as the Lady Mt. Lions led 62-14 after three. Tucker County scored another 18 points in the fourth quarter with the reserves in and took the victory 80-28.

Sydney Nestor led the way for Tucker County with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Lydia Mullenax had 10 points, 7 rebounds and Leslie Nestor pulled down 11 rebounds for Tucker County in the win. The Lady Mt. Lions JV team cruised also with a 59-17 win in the first game of the night.

 

HAMBLETON – The Lady Mt. Lions entertained Tygarts Valley on Thursday December 17th. Tucker County once again started fast and breezed to another win by the final score of 78-37.

Tucker County scored 33 first quarter points and held the Lady Bulldogs to just 5 points to lead after one 33-5. The Lady Mt. Lions held Tygarts Valley to just 2 points in the second quarter and they scored 25 points to take dominating 58-7 lead at the half.

Coach Ambrose went to his bench the remainder of the game as Tucker County led 68-21 after three. The fourth quarter showed Tygarts Valley outscoring Tucker’s reserve players 16-10, but Tucker County got the home victory 78-37.

Sydney Nestor led the way for Tucker County with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Sydney Moore had 11 points, 6 steals and Lydia Mullenax led in rebounding with 7 boards. Emily Crosten and Madison Reall each had 8 points for the Lady Mt. Lions in the win. The Lady Mt. Lions JV team fell to Keyser JV in the first game 49-44.

The Lady Mt. Lions(5-0) will return to action on December 28th at Keyser Holiday Tournament at 6pm against Fairmont Senior. Tucker County will then play either Keyser or Spring Mills on December 29th. Both Keyser Tournament games will be broadcast on TuckerCountySports.Com.
