According to a press release from the Tucker county Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, May 21, at approximately 10:44 p.m., Deputies B.T. Zirk and C.R. Donelson, responded to the scene of a one vehicle crash along Pendleton Run Road, located off WV32.
While responding to this location, both officers were made aware that there was one possible fatality and multiple injuries associated with the crash, which had reportedly occurred at approximately 10:41 p.m.
Evidence located at the scene indicated that a red jeep, which was being operated by Charles Arnold, of Thomas, rolled over an embankment prior to coming to rest on its side. Three occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, including the driver, Charles Arnold, Amanda Marie Long and a juvenile male.
Also noted by Deputies, were several opened and unopened alcoholic beverage containers scattered throughout the incident scene appearing to have come from the crashed vehicle. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from the immediate area.
The body of Amanda Marie Long was secured by the Tucker County Emergency Medical Service and transported to Davis Medical Center, in Elkins.
